All Prague night trams (all – 51-59) and some buses (504, 505, 510, 511 a 512) are going to have shorter intervals. Prague public transport system decided to shorten the times between trams and buses from 30 to 20 minutes. See more on Lidovky.cz
Don´t Take a Cab at Hlavní Nádraží – Main Station
Many Prague tourists spent a lot of their money in first moments of their stay in Prague. 10 minutes by taxi from the main railway station to any place to very near downtown cost you usually 20-25 EUR (25-30 USD), which is definitely a LOT!
Don´t take a yellow taxis from the taxi station, rather call Modry Andel (+420737222333) or AAA Taxi (+420222333222). Or use Uber! Main Station – Downtown will cost you maximally 10-15 EUR (12-18 USD)
Very similar situation is in the airport, but not so critical.
How to get from Vaclav Havel Airport to Downtown
You will go by bus 119 to Nádraží Veleslavín terminal station. Then go by subway A line from Nádraží Veleslavín to Mustek. Then go through the exit Vaclavske namesti/Vodickova. And you are right in the center of Prague. Just 40 minutes.
Shuttle (150 CZK per person) is going to V Celnici street, then you will go by tram 3/14/24 two stops to Vaclavske nam.
I can recommend to you Modry Andel taxi (modryandel.cz), they are pretty cheap and speak English well. And you can order them exactly to your flight day, two before. Airport – downtown should be appx. 400-500 CZK. Or you can use UBER definitely.
